Lesson Terms
Lesson Terms and Conditions Policy
Last updated: 20 September 2026
These terms apply to guitar lessons and music tuition provided by Matthew Miller Guitar.
1. Booking lessons
Initial contact must please be made through email to register interest, via matt@matthewmillerguitar.com
Lessons are then arranged directly with Matthew Miller by email, phone, WhatsApp or another agreed method.
A lesson is confirmed once the date, time, duration and price have been agreed.
Lesson availability is subject to change and regular lesson times cannot be guaranteed unless specifically agreed.
When booking, please give at least 72 hours notice to the time of the lesson so Matthew can ensure the lesson slot is available.
2. Lesson fees and payment
The price of each lesson will be confirmed before booking.
Payment arrangements will be agreed before or at the time of booking. Payment may be requested in advance by bank transfer or another agreed payment method.
Any change to lesson prices will be communicated in advance and will not affect lessons that have already been paid for.
3. Cancellations and rescheduling
Please give at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange a lesson.
Where less than 48 hours' notice is provided, the lesson fee may still be payable because that time has been reserved and may not reasonably be available for another student.
Where sufficient notice is given, I will normally try to rearrange the lesson to another suitable time.
If I need to cancel a lesson, the lesson will be rearranged or any payment already made for that lesson will be refunded or credited towards a future lesson.
4. Lateness and missed lessons
If a student arrives late, the lesson will normally still finish at the originally agreed time.
If a student does not attend an agreed lesson without notice, the lesson may be treated as a late cancellation and the lesson fee may remain payable.
If I am late, I will make up the lost teaching time where reasonably possible.
5. Online lessons
Online lessons may be provided using Zoom, Microsoft Teams or another agreed platform.
Students are responsible for having a suitable internet connection, device and instrument available for the lesson.
If a significant technical problem on my side prevents the lesson from taking place, the lesson will be rearranged or credited.
6. Students under 18
For students under 18, lesson arrangements should be made with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian.
Whilst lessons for students under 18 are verified eligible by an enhanced DBS certification, a parent or guardian should provide appropriate contact details and remains responsible for the student's attendance and payment arrangements.
7. Ending tuition
There is no requirement to continue taking lessons unless a separate package or block of lessons has been agreed.
Either the student or I may decide to stop ongoing tuition at any time. Any lessons already booked remain subject to the cancellation terms above.
8. Your statutory rights
These terms do not affect your statutory consumer rights.
Where lessons are arranged remotely, for example by email, telephone or online, UK consumer law may provide a 14-day cancellation period after entering into the contract.
If you ask for a lesson to take place during that 14-day period, you are requesting that the service begins before the cancellation period has ended. If you later exercise your statutory right to cancel after lessons have begun, you may be required to pay for services already provided in accordance with applicable consumer law.
